All the fun of the 'Air' at Salisbury Festival's Fun day

Thank you Salisbury International Arts Festival for a lovely 'fun day'. I have to confess that I abandoned my plan to spend the day on WAP's Grants For The Arts application for funding in favour of taking in a bit of the Salisbury Festival atmosphere with my children and I certainly made the right decision. The sun brought out a great crowd who enjoyed lots of FREE fun, many based on this years festival theme of China and the air. Activities included the ever popular face painting, inflatable slides, loads of craft activity, street dancing workshops and circus skills. My 8 year old son thought the 'Silly Science' demonstration was 'the best'. Joe and Issy can be seen here in costumes by Hoodwink who told them all about Constable visiting Salisbury 200 years ago!
Don't forget there are still some tickets available to WAP members and friends, I've just booked mine for Brocante Sonore at Salisbury Playhouse on Friday I'm glad to hear a few of you have as well. I may see you there!

Hoodwink need volunteers/participants. Aged 16+
Would you like to be part of a professional outdoor show?
‘Where’s Constable?’
Saturday 11th June 2pm, Cathedral Green, Salisbury.
Commissioned as part of Salisbury’s celebrations of the art of John Constable. This outdoor spectacle in trademark Hoodwink visual style, combines comedy, music, choirs, runaway sheep from the water meadow, birthday cake…..and more!
Hoodwink needs volunteers.
At 10.30am on Saturday 11th June Hoodwink would like to fill the street corners of Salisbury with as many ‘Constables’ as possible.
A flash mob of ‘Constables’, drawing, painting their view of Salisbury Cathedral.
We need as many ‘Constables’ as possible to create an impact.
Male or female the costume is the same.
You don’t need to be an experienced artist or performer but up for fun and a memorable experience as part of a professional show.
Simple costume and rehearsal/briefing will be given and lots of cake on the day!
If you are really keen you can be involved in the show at 2pm as well.
If you would prefer to help make the event happen from behind the scenes you are very welcome too.
